Registering for a baby can be an overwhelming task for a first time mom - there’s soooo much baby gear to think about, so many different reviews and opinions to consider. We often find that moms forget one very important category when registering….putting themselves on the list! That’s right - it’s not just all about baby, mama. You need to take care of yourself during the postpartum and early days with a newborn in order to be the best mother you can be. So when you’re thinking about creating your perfect registry before your baby shower - here are 3 reasons why you should consider putting yourself on that list, too! Comfort! You want to be comfortable when your body is healing from giving birth. You won’t be wearing your pre-pregnancy clothes right away so it’s a nice idea to have stretchy, giving pants and nursing tanks that can be layered with cardigans. Consider avoiding tight waistbands and bras with wire during the early days. Sleep. We all dream about sleep when caring for a newborn. While there may be many long nights in your future make it as easy as possible for yourself to get some rest! Register for new bedding or at the very least a new cozy blanket for your bed. Stock up on nursing nighties that make middle-of-the-night feeds easier. Self-Care. During this exhausting time it’s so important to sneak in some self-care. Think ahead when planning your registry and include a few things you can look forward to using, like that luxe face mask you’ve been wanting to splurge on or a Kindle to use while you nurse.
