Supine Spinal Twist (Supta Jaṭhara Parivartānāsana)

Twisting poses for postpartum mamas are great for detoxification and digestion, as they tend to 'wring out' the body and refresh the organs and cells with fresh blood and energy. A supine spinal twist offers these benefits in an easeful way, as well as opening the low back and glutes, releasing tension in the spine and opening the shoulders (that are aching from holding and feeding baby!).  This pose can be done with or without baby on board—just be mindful that you have a good hold on the baby as you twist.
