Your Best Mother's Day

All moms deserve comfy pajamas for mother's day for their breakfast inbed photo op.

Full disclosure: we love holidays—especially Mother’s Day. But given that we’re a maternity focused brand you probably figured as much. But let us tell you why we’re so into holidays. With so much strife and turmoil in this world, it’s nice to set aside a couple of days a year to focus on the simple, universal things that make life enjoyable—like family and friends. And of course motherhood!

But we also live in the real world and understand the daily trials and tribulations of being a mother. More often than not, it’s pretty tough for Mother's Day to live up to all the hype. Rounding up the entire family, scrubbing them down and dressing them up, all to hustle to make your brunch reservation at an overcrowded restaurant, leads to a lot of stress over mediocre eggs Benedict. So this year, we’re encouraging you to do Mother’s Day how exactly how you want to. To help, we’ve come up with 3 super simple tips for all moms.

  1. A Moment for Mama: It’s so easy to lose the real purpose of the day - ya know, YOU - in all the craziness of the day. Remember mama, it’s your day.  It’s OK to say peace out to the fam for a bit. We know it’s hard to, but trust that those dishes from “breakfast in bed” will be alright in the sink for a little. Even if it’s only just an hour, make sure to carve to do something meaningful for yourself. Take a yoga class, get a massage, take a bath with the door closed, catch up on the Real Housewives of Someplace, or meditate - whatever helps you unwind and center. The kids will understand and the time you do spend will be more enjoyable for all.
  2. Take Time to Reflect: Motherhood is truly one of the greatest gifts life can offer. It’s tough to keep that at the forefront of your mind each day when you’re running on iced coffee and fumes, however. So on this day dedicated wild experience of being a mother, find some time to reflect on your journey. Whether you’re expecting or you’ve got a house full of adolescents, there are so many beautiful moments to look back on.
  3. Celebrate your Tribe: It’s crazy to think that all 7.3 billion people on this planet started life in the same place - maybe if we all remembered this, women’s rights would be protected around the world…but that’s a different conversation. The point is that mothers are all around us! So on your big day, make sure to look out of yourself and share some love for the other mothers in your life. Shout out the family, friends, co-workers, and play-group moms who make up your tribe.  And don’t forget to remember your mother, her mother, and her’s as well—the beautiful legacy of life and love they’ve passed down to you.

We’ve learned over the years that there’s no such thing as a perfect Mother’s Day, because life. BUT, keeping that in mind and following our simple tips you can have one that’s just right and wonderful for you.
