Here's what they told us: It’s safer. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends infants under 6 months sleep in the same room as parents, but not on the same surface. Sleeping with baby close creates healthy sleep patterns for both mom and baby. With baby right beside mom, it decreases trips down the hallway to feed or comfort baby, making nighttime interruptions far easier to navigate, especially for moms recovering from a C-section. It’s also the safest option for premature babies.
