In the run up to the election and the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, my daughter Neena and I paid a visit to Hello Kitty’s Campaign Headquarters this weekend in Washington, DC.  That's right— Hello Kitty is running for President!  She’s a member the 'Friendship Party.' She's not slinging mud at President Obama or Republican nominee Mitt Romney. Her platform is simply to 'create more happiness, friendship, and fun'. In addition to the fun photo ops and Hello Kitty goodies, Neena learned about her future right to vote and got a chance to practice her civic duty by writing in Hello Kitty. The best part about our visit is that Sanrio will donate the proceeds from the pop-up shop at Hello Kitty’s Campaign Headquarters to the American Red Cross Hurricane 2012 Fund to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy.
