International Women's Day 2021: #ChooseToChallenge
International Women’s Day is celebrated annually on March 8 and this year more than ever we are happy to participate in a campaign that celebrates women's social, economic, cultural & political achievements and calls for gender equality. We’re now at the one-year mark of global pandemic that has seen record numbers of women leave the workforce and shined a spotlight on society’s unrealistic expectations of women. There’s no question that women, and mothers in particular, have borne the brunt of the crisis.
With this in mind, we’re celebrating a few of the mothers in our community - mamas we've recently met and a few we've know for years - who have inspired us this past year in hopes that their journeys resonate with you too:
Rosdaly Ramirez, A mother of a newborn and a toddler returning to graduate school during the pandemic to finish a masters in social work to help other mothers.
Amy Updike, An ER nurse and athlete fighting Covid-19 on the front lines while embarking on a huge personal challenge.
Bethanie Garcia, a mother of five providing an unfiltered view into her motherhood journey and reminding women to honor themselves and their bodies.
Caitlin Kruse, an entrepreneurial, multi-talented mother of three using her creativity and craftiness to launch @themagicplaybook help other mothers keep their littles entertained.
Kristin McGee, and yoga + meditation instructor and mother of three young boys sharing her at home routines and teaching worldwide through the OnePeloton app.
As mothers, we’re all on the frontlines of creating a more gender equal world. We want to hear from you. Celebrate your achievements and share how you are helping to forge a more gender equal world too - whether that’s making time to pursue your goals or working toward an equal distribution of labor at home! Share on social with the hashtags #ChoosetoChallenge #IWD2021
Together we can help to forge an inclusive world!
